Overview

2013

Nima co-founded real estate investment management firm, BKM Capital Partners, as a longtime owner-user and investor in industrial real estate. Soon after, Nima was joined by John Mack (former CEO & Chairman of the Board at Morgan Stanley) as an investor, business partner and board advisor.

2016

BKM Capital Partners raised its first institutional fund with $105 million in capital commitments, focused on industrial properties across the western United States.

2017

The Canyon Catalyst Fund, a discretionary separate account managed by Canyon Partners Real Estate on behalf of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), entered into a joint venture with BKM Capital Partner as part of the emerging manager platform.

2018

BKM Capital Partners was recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work in Orange County,” by the Orange County Business Journal.

2019

BKM Capital Partners raised $382 million for its second US industrial investment fund using a portion of that capital to eventually acquire an industrial portfolio encompassing 11 properties located in Arizona, Northern California, Southern California and Oregon in a transaction valued at $425 million.

2020

Inc. Magazine announced that BKM Capital Partners ranked #1,040 on its annual Inc. 5000 list due to its three-year revenue growth of 446%. The Inc. 5000 list refers to the 5,000 fastest-growing, privately held companies in America, which celebrates entrepreneurial success, leadership and innovation.

BKM Capital Partners is a firm specializing in the acquisition and improvement of multi-tenant business parks. Throughout Nima’s tenure as Chairman, BKM Capital Partners grew to nearly $2 billion in assets under management for large institutional investors, 100 employees across 12 offices.

In late 2020, Nima and John sold their collective majority ownership in BKM.
